Live Love Loud

From the Heart of Abigail Joy
“If the Holy Spirit is the comforter, and we live lives that are comfort-laden do we even need His empowerment and relationship?” (Francis Chan in The Forgotten God)
Whoa. Sometimes when I read a quote...I have to reread it…again and again. This is one of those heart-shaking quotes. It stirs me inside because I am not one who runs to action. I do not seek to be challenged. I do not hunt for risk-taking-life-threatening-thrill-adrenaline-pumping action. I sew….not sky-dive. Is my life too comfortable?
The truth is…I DO long for adventure. My heart beats faster when I see other people living life—living out the love of Christ….growing…being challenged…and running after God. No matter the sacrifices that may be made, no matter where God may take them, the people that are far from being comfort-laden—I want to live like that!! If we long to see the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives—His “empowerment and relationship”—maybe it is time to start stirring up prayers.
True life is ignored when you play it too safe!
“In so many places, we sit and talk about compassion, unimaginable love, revival. And then an hour later, we are still sitting there talking about it. But revival is happening. Now. Compassion is working; unimaginable, selfless love is real. It is right here….” (Katie Davis, Kisses from Katie, Page 143)
The moment is now! The day is today! Let’s quit sitting around and talking about it and get something done. I do not want to play it safe.
God gave me so much compassion and mercy for the hurting, the broken, the unloved, and looked over. Some days I feel as if I may burst…my heart literally may explode…I want to be serving…to be acting and LIVING LOVE LOUD…giving others what Christ has given me. Want your heart to ache and stir with me? Read this quote.

“The truth is that there are children like this all over the world, sick, starving, dying, unloved, and uncared for. The truth is that the 143 million orphaned children and the 11 million who starve to death or die from preventable diseases and the 8.5 million who work as child slaves, prostitutes, or under other horrific conditions and the 2.3 million who live with HIV add up to 164.8 million needy children. And though at first glance that looks like a big number, 2.1 billion people on this earth proclaim to be Christians. The truth is that if only 8 percent of the Christians would care for one more child, there would not be any statistics left…” (Katie Davis, Kisses from Katie, Page 92).

Ah! If this does not leave you eager to jump off the couch-dropping-the-potato-chips and wanting to DO something...then I don’t know what will!
If He commands it…why are we questioning whether or not we should act? What are we doing Church? The needy are right where you live…hungry, hurt, neglected, homeless, broken. I am not necessarily saying everyone should sell everything they own and go serve in a jungle (although that would lead to a really cool story and adventure)…but we have no excuse for overlooking those who need loving…Look at all Christ did for us!!
Paul says in Colossians…[Colossians 3:12-17]
“12So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”
Maybe it is time to recheck our priorities. If you want to be different in today’s crazy society…follow Christ! Seek His commands and promises…get in the word. Check out what you could be doing to help out those around who are crying out!! Let’s get rid of statistics and care for children! Live out the love of Christ. Above all—Pray…to be challenged…stretched…taken out of comfort zones!! I can’t wait to see what God has in store!
Today is the day. Let’s quit playing it safe. Start trusting in our Holy powerful loving awesome God! Let go and allow yourself to be used by Him...and get ready for the adventure!!
